Optimus EMR, Inc. has added a fully integrated Optimus EMR C.N.A. Module which features icon (picture) based
documentation. The icon based C.N.A. data collection can be done at the Point of Care using wireless Pocket
PC PDAs or at the “Proximity of Care”, using wall mounted kiosks.

For LTC facilities that want to implement this portion of the Optimus EMR System, it can be a “stand alone”
module that would allow the facility to seamlessly progress to the full Optimus EMR System at a later date,
and at their own pace.
According to Timothy D. Quarberg, VP of Sales & Marketing with Optimus, "This is an important and logical
progression of the Optimus EMR System. For years Optimus EMR has been the leader in point of care documentation
for C.N.A.s using PDAs that featured MDS-based text and LTC industry standard words and phrases. The LTC
industry has been clamoring for an icon based C.N.A. documentation method that is a part of a Complete and
True EMR Solution such as the Optimus EMR System."
Mr. Quarberg also states, "We have now given LTC facilities the option of using wireless hand-held Pocket PC
PDAs to have icon-based C.N.A. documentation at the Point of Care, or facilities can choose to use wall mounted
kiosks, which we at Optimus call Proximity of Care documentation. The Optimus EMR System will support both types
of devices."
"Furthermore, this gives LTC facilities the option of implementing portions of the Optimus EMR System (like the
C.N.A. icon-based Charting Module only) or implementing the entire Optimus EMR System at their own pace. This
eliminates the need for LTC facilities to spend money and time on other stand-alone C.N.A. documentation products
(icon based or voice based) which prevent the facilities from seamlessly moving into a full EMR Solution."
The Optimus C.N.A. Kiosk Module may work with existing Kiosks that LTC facilities have purchased previously for other
stand-alone Kiosk-based C.N.A. data collection systems.

As with all of the modules of the Optimus EMR System, the icon based C.N.A. Charting Module has been engineered with
complete software automation. All C.N.A. documentation automatically flows to the MDS, the "eChart", clinical alerts,
reports, and to the entire EMR System. The Optimus C.N.A. icon-based charting module allows C.N.A.s to document or
observe all of the following:
- ADLS
- Mood and Behaviors
- Continence (Bowel and Bladder) Documentation
- Communication
- Vitals
- Intake and Output
- Meals
- Care Plan Driven C.N.A. Task Lists
- Resident Messages entered by Facility Nursing Management
- Clinical Alerts generated by the OEMR Alerts Dashboard
- Resident Complaints including Pain and Skin/Wound Conditions
- Restraints
- Coma documentation
