CPOE / eMAR and eTAR - LTC Integration

Primary to the care of residents in LTC are the physician orders and related activities of care. In the Optimus system the physician orders are entered directly into the CPOE by the physician or nurse receiving the order from the physician. These orders may be interfaced directly with the facility’s pharmacy vendor for immediate, seamless and accurate communication of all medication orders, thus saving time and avoiding the possibility of errors in this very important process.

Once the order is entered and confirmed it is immediately available on the Optimus eMAR or eTAR for administration and proper care documentation. The eMAR and eTAR are designed to provide proper clinical information at the appropriate times to assist the care givers with best practices and safe and accurate medication administration and treatments. The availability of complete and accurate order information in real time enhances patient care and safety. In addition, the "five rights" are built in to the CPOE / eMAR and eTAR workflow and system design to provide complete protection and patient safety.
