Electronic Control Center or Management Dashboard (eCC)
The Electronic Control Center (eCC) is the customized executive digital dashboard for senior executives, administrators and department managers. It provides "fingertip" information and displays the key areas to be monitored to effectively manage clinical/financial operations.
-
The Electronic Chart (eChart)
The eChart represents the new method of accessing and viewing real-time pertinent resident data. Now, authorized physicians, nurses, therapists, and pharmacists can review real time clinical information any time - either on site or remotely.
-
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
The ADLs are tracked by CNAs and nurses through the unique touch screen kiosks or other computer devices. The simple yet robust ADL documentation simultaneously populates both eChart and MDS look-back periods. This valuable information is also used for mandatory reporting and staff compliance.
-
Point-of-Care (POC) Documentation and Data Collection
Document and chart at the POC with all available technologies from wall-mounted kiosks and tablets PCs, to laptops and "slates" (iPad-type devices) and more. With the Optimus EMR system, the data collected at the POC and elsewhere automatically populates all relevant sections of the databases for future access through the eChart, use in reports, the eCC alerts and financial calculations.
-
Electronic Medication Administration Records (eMAR)
Our eMAR is one of the most popular modules. The eMAR helps ensure that the right resident receives the right medication at the right time with guaranteed uptime in case of Internet outages. Allows for direct input to pain and behavioral documentation while administering medication for maximum efficiency and compliance. No other system has our triple redundancy access functions or a more accurate real time system.
-
Electronic Treatment Administration Records (eTAR)
The eTAR comes with all of the internal features of the eMAR which allows for direct access to the skin and wound module to support charting while doing treatments.
-
Automated MDS 3.0
The Optimus EMR automated MDS 3.0 system is unique and is a cornerstone of the Optimus EMR system. The automated MDS module operates on demand, combining and evaluating observations, assessments, nurses' notes, MD notes and ADLs collected during routine care and documentation, as well as all other pertinent clinical data in the electronic medical record. And that's just the beginning.
-
The Computerized Physician Order Entry
The Optimus EMR system supports two methods for order entry. The traditional order entry provides for all types of orders from medication and treatments to lab tests and more. The second type is the physician module, which allows for direct entry by the physicians either remotely or on site.
-
Full MD Module
This is a full physician EMR with history and physical exams, interim notes, system specific structured notes and discharge summaries to allow physicians to maintain all patient clinical records.
-
Full Therapy Module
Therapists complete evaluations, treatment notes and all other documentation which is integrated for viewing by all clinicians and for billing.
-
Interoperability
A key function for an EHR is the sharing of clinical information with other providers and organizations. The Optimus system is currently communicating bi-directionally and sharing clinical information with many pharmacies, labs, radiology companies, acute hospitals, local HIEs and RHIOs. One aspect of CCHIT certification is the validation of the software’s capability to share clinical information through CCDs (an electronic document with all clinical elements defined).
-
Progress Notes Assessments / Observations
All caregivers have customized and structured user interface screens that assist with the proper documentation for efficiency and accuracy. The use of structured notes instead of free text has a much higher value for reimbursement and clinical alerts.
-
Security HIPAA and HITECH
All users are tracked within the system for all access, actions taken, and records viewed. Optimus uses a staff badge that has an embedded unique ID for electronic signatures and validated audit trials. This audit function is required for CCHIT certification and is very important in the practical daily functions of surveys, compliance activities and defense in possible liability claims.
-
CCRC Functions
Many organizations have combined campuses and this module allows for the easy transfer of patients from one level of care to another, e.g. assisted living to a SNF. The transfer includes the demographic and clinical information with physician orders.
-
ADT
This is the front-end repository for all patient information with the history of all pertinent status changes that is used for clinical and billing transactions.
-
Technology Internet Protection/Data Centers/Executive Portal
Optimus has created several important technological differences that are important to our customers. Our Evergreen device (cache and recent local data repository) protects against temporary Internet outages that occur frequently. Clinical activities and access to documentation is mission critical and downtime or reverting to paper is not an acceptable solution. Redundant data centers have been installed to protect in case of a weather or other type of disaster or outage. The executive portal allows validated management and clinicians to access the system remotely using any computer device through its browser.
